The course will be beneficial for anyone interested in designing, implementing, coordinating, managing or evaluating research and innovation processes using foresight or horizon scanning approaches linking education, research and innovation to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).

We invite:

  • Entrepreneurial academics and researchers.
  • Forward-thinking government and policy actors.
  • Sustainability-oriented business and industry representatives.

Course outcomes:

  • Understanding the key rationales for foresight, the building blocks of a foresight process, main features of a foresight methodology and key factors influencing the selection and combination of methods.
  • Gaining practical knowledge on foresight best practices for sustainable innovation assessment.

The duration of the course is approximately 3 hours, including two sessions and a coffee break.

Rafael Popper (PhD), Director of Futures Diamond and Adjunct Professor at the Finland Futures Research Centre of the University of Turku.
