Conference area and maps

The Bloomsbury area of Central London where the conference is hosted is an important historical and tourist area of London and is well provided with hotels. It is notable for its array of Georgian garden squares, literary connections (exemplified by the Bloomsbury Group - best known members of which included Virginia Woolf and John Maynard Keynes) and numerous cultural (e.g. British Museum) and educational institutions of the University of London.

The conference will take place in Senate House of the University of London, and UCL and Birkbeck. Torrington Square links the three sites together (London WC1E 7HU)

The Bloomsbury area is an important tourist area of London and is well provided with hotels. We would offer a range of accommodation ranging from high-end hotel accommodation to student halls of residences:

The nearest hotel to the conference venues is the Tavistock Hotel Russell Square, a 2* hotel with a maximum capacity of 300 rooms.

A slightly more expensive hotel is the Premier Inn on Euston Road, which offers 266 rooms close to the conference.

The top level we would suggest without being hugely expensive is the Pullman London St Pancras which has 312 rooms.

The most basic rooms available are the UCL student block. These are inexpensive and close to the conference venues, but offer facilities which are not as good as hotels.

Goodenough College Club provides 4 star accommodation to visitors close to the conference venues in five Grade II listed Georgian townhouses.

The area has a range of other hotel accommodation. These include the expensive Russell Hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton, the Hilton London Euston Hotel, and the Grange Whitehall Hotel, Bloomsbury.
